Betty Jo Boutot, of Fort Meyers, Florida., Formerly of the Outer Banks of North Carolina passed peacefully in her sleep January 10, 2022, at the age of 79- just 17 days shy of her 80th birthday!
She was born on Jan. 27, 1942, in Creswell, NC to Joseph H. and Elizabeth F. Woodley. Betty Jo was predeceased by her parents and by her grandson, Joseph “Joey” Bradley Noble.
Betty Jo is survived by her loving husband Benoit “Ben” Boutot of Florida; her two sons and their families; Richard Scott Noble and wife Martha Liliana and Daughter Sydnie Brianna Noble all of Kill Devil Hills, and Bradley Allen Noble, of Kill Devil Hills and daughter, Haley Christine Noble of Fountain, Colorado.
Betty Jo’s parents left Creswell, NC when she was just a baby to seek their fortune in Norfolk Va. There she attended Granby High School. Later, she would attend Libby’s Beauty School where she became a licensed beautician. She moved to the Outer Banks in 1975 working many years at Professional Floors and at small local beauty shops.
Betty Jo finally realized her dream of opening her own shop and did so founding Hair Flair of Kitty Hawk! She also later became a licensed real estate agent until her retirement. Betty Jo loved life and enjoyed the last 33 years in Fort Myers, Florida where she has made many, many friends that she considers “Family.”
