KILL DEVIL HILLS — Brenda D. Killgore, 72, of Kill Devil Hills, NC died Thursday, December 8, 2022, at her home.
Born in Pasquotank County on April 9, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Bessie Perry and Lawrence Sawyer.
Brenda attended Elizabeth City Public Schools continuing her education in Chicago to become a nurse. She worked in the restaurant industry as a manager and was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Elizabeth City.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Gary Killgore; daughters, Tammey Hunter of Concord, NC and Tina Cecil of Copperas Cove, TX; son, Larry Holcomb, Jr. (Jamiee Opfer) of Belvidere, NC; grandchildren, Alexis Hunter of Concord, NC, Olivia Holcomb, and Riley Holcomb both of Belvidere, NC; sister, Sharon Bowman (Tommy) of Elizabeth City, NC; and brothers, Lawrence Wayne Sawyer (Connie) of South Mills, NC and Ricky Sawyer (Ginny) of Gates, NC.
