‘Well done, good and faithful servant.’ Matthew 25:23
KITTY HAWK KITES — On August 7th, 2021, Jackie peacefully entered her heavenly home with loved ones by her side and welcomed with open arms by her cherished late father, Rudy Davis, and dear sister Pam. She will be remembered as a brave and courageous warrior whose lengthy journey with ALS came to a serene close.
Jackie is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 44 years, Stan Perry, her precious son James, stepsons Eric Perry (Eric) and Marcus Perry (Jeni), and granddaughters Jordan & Allie. She is also survived by her mother Jean Davis, sisters Donna Wright (Drew) and Valerie Saunders (Rob), her dearest friend Linda, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Jackie earned her Master’s Degree from Old Dominion University where she also taught for a brief time. She retired as a Dental Hygienist after dedicating over 40 years to working in a profession that she truly loved. In addition to her beloved profession, Jackie volunteered countless hours for the VDHA where she held many positions, including President. She was also a delegate for the ADHA where her passion for the profession was truly shown in advocating for the Dental Hygiene industry. Jackie truly treasured the people she crossed paths with and the friendships and bonds she built throughout the years.
Jackie loved to travel and was able to take many wonderful, memorable trips with her family. It was no secret, though, that her favorite place to be was on the beach spending time with cherished family and friends where she could relax and sink her toes in the sand.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the many kind individuals who lovingly saw to Jackie’s needs over the years. A special thanks as well, to Dare County Social Services, Kitty Hawk Fire & Rescue, the Jim “Catfish” Hunter ALS Foundation, and Access Partnership, Virginia Beach, VA.
A celebration of Jackie’s life will be held Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 11:00 am at Currituck Bible Baptist Church located at 6339 Caratoke Hwy, Grandy, NC 27939, 252-453-0048. For those that prefer, the celebration will also be live-streamed via the church and Pastor Eric Rainwater’s Facebook.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jim “Catfish” Hunter ALS Foundation, P.O. Box 47, Hertford, NC 27944.
