SOUTHERN SHORES — Lynne Stevens Chase, 87, of Southern Shores, NC died Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at The Outer Banks Hospital.
Born in Boston, MA on September 20, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Florence Butchman and Harold N. Stevens.
Lynne dedicated her life to serving others. She worked as the Adult Program Director for United Cerebral Palsy of New Jersey. She was an active member of Duck United Methodist Church as a founder of Silver Links and a member of United Methodist Women. She often volunteered for the Special Olympics. Lynne enjoyed her membership at Duck Woods Country Club and loved introducing new lady members to the sport of golf and DWCC through the Newbees. She was an honorary member of the DWCC Women’s Association. No matter her involvement, she always had an encouraging word for others.
Lynne is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Moseley (David); son, Wesley Chase (Ellen); grandchildren, Daniel Chase (Kayla), Kyle Chase, Nicole O’Hara (Dustin), David Moseley III (Danielle); and great-grandchildren, Corinne, Tennessee, David IV, Maya, Scarlett, and Sawyer.
In addition to her parents, Lynne was preceded in death by her husband of 65-years, George Wesley Chase who passed in March 2022, and a brother, Charles Stevens.
A celebration of Lynne’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Duck United Methodist Church.
