October 12, 1951 – February 14, 2025
KITTY HAWK — Roc Frank Sansotta, 73, passed away peacefully at home on February 14, 2025.
Born on October 12, 1951, in Covington, Kentucky, Roc was the son of the late Philip Nicholas Sansotta and Barbara Jane Robinson. From an early age, he displayed an innate drive, passion, and commitment that would define both his personal and professional life.
Roc’s career in real estate was marked by excellence, leadership, and a hands-on approach that made him a well-known figure in the Outer Banks community. After beginning his real estate career in Northern Virginia, where he earned recognition for his sales and listings, he set his sights on the Outer Banks, a place he truly loved. In 1991, he purchased his first vacation rental property, and by 1996, he became the sole owner of Cove Realty. Under his leadership, the company flourished, managing approximately 150 rental properties while maintaining the family-oriented, personal approach that Roc valued so deeply. Whether clearing debris, laying sandbags, or personally checking on properties, Roc believed in leading by example—ensuring homeowners and renters alike received the highest level of care and service.
Beyond his career, Roc lived a life rich with adventure, international travel, love, and unwavering generosity. He had an uncanny ability to turn any conversation into a song, keeping everyone around him entertained with his quick wit and musical spirit. In his earlier years, he found exhilaration in flying airplanes and riding motorcycles—always chasing the thrill of open skies and winding roads. He cherished the peaceful beauty of Skyline Drive, relished day trips to local festivals, and found joy in historic walks through Edenton with his beloved wife, Amira, and their cherished pup, Paulie.
A man of deep faith, Roc was actively involved in the Catholic Church, most recently serving as a devoted Eucharistic Minister at Holy Redeemer By-the-Sea Catholic Church in Kitty Hawk. His faith was evident in his everyday life—through his kindness, selflessness, and boundless generosity. Roc never met a stranger and had an incredible way of making people smile. His presence filled every room, his words never seemed to run out, and his heart knew no bounds.
Roc is survived by his loving wife, Amira Sansotta, and his pup, Paulie Sansotta; his son, Roc P.M. Sansotta, and grandchildren Wesley Sansotta, Ariel Sansotta, and Ireland Sansotta; and his stepdaughter, Jessica Coscia, and her husband Brendan Ferns. He also leaves behind his siblings: Brie, Nick, Dom, Cathy, Marc, Suzanne, and Patty, as well as countless friends, colleagues, loved ones and a large community, near and far, who were fortunate enough to know him.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM, on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Twiford Funeral Home, 500 Budleigh Street, Manteo, NC 27954. To live stream Roc’s service, please visit www.TwifordFH.com.
