Weekly CHNS Update From Ranger Karol Jones
The Buxton Beach Nourishment project is now underway with pumping of sand beginning last night at 6:10 pm.
Cape Point remains open via an ORV-only corridor. Seashore staff continue to intensively monitor the corridor and will provide expanded access to the Point as soon as possible.
For the July 4th Fireworks in Avon, ORVs may remain on the beach adjacent to the Avon Fireworks at Ramp 38, which will remain open until 10:30 p.m.. All other ramps will be closed to ORVs at the regular time of 9:00 PM. Ramp 34 is accessible by pedestrians via its boardwalk. Park staff requests all ORVs at Ramp 38 remain in place after the fireworks until 10:00 PM to allow pedestrians to safely exit the beaches first and then allow ORVs to exit after pedestrians.
All ORVs are to exit the Ramp by 10:30 p.m
