Hatteras Island Photographer makes Time Magazine’s 100 Best Photos of 2020 List
Local Hatteras Island photographer Daniel Pullen made national waves this week after earning a spot on Time Magazine’s “100 Best Photos of 2020” list.
The winning photo captures a ground-level game room in an oceanfront vacation home that was inundated with flooding during September’s Hurricane Teddy.
Distant Hurricane Teddy remained well offshore, but had significant impacts along the Outer Banks in late September, causing multiple rounds of ocean overwash that closed N.C. Highway 12 for five consecutive days. Oceanfront homes on Hatteras Island were especially affected by the subsequent erosion and flooding, as evident by Pullen’s shot of the local Avon home.
