Severe weather possible on Tuesday, May 9

The primary risk will be damaging wind gusts as high as 55-65 mph and frequent lightning. If a larger complex/line of thunderstorms develops, there could be an enhanced risk of more widespread damaging winds. Hail is possible, although the risk of tornados is very low.
Initial storm development takes place across northeast N.C., with storms spreading south toward the coast through the early evening.
The main window for severe weather is from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m.
