The Dare County Library System will host its third annual collection drive to benefit the Outer Banks SPCA throughout the month of March.
Donations can be dropped off at any of the three Dare County Library branches, including the Hatteras branch, during business hours. On April 1, 2023, library staff members will deliver the collected items to the Dare County Animal Shelter located on Roanoke Island.
The location and hours of operation for the Hatteras library are as follows:

Hours:
- Tuesday: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday: 12 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Thursday-Friday: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Saturday: 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Suggested donation items include dog food, cat food, treats, leashes, laundry detergent, trash bags, paper towels and hand soap.
Donations can also be made online through the Outer Banks SPCA’s Amazon and Chewy.com wish lists, and items will be shipped directly to the shelter.
